About the Event
The Pride March is our annual event that invites allies and community to all come together and walk side by side in solidarity.
The March will gather at Brandon City Hall on 9th Street. When the drums sound around noon, the March will begin and head east down Victoria Avenue and end at Rideau Park in the East End where Pride in the Park will begin at approximately 1PM.
This event will happen rain or shine (unless lightning and thunder, watch our social media pages for updates if weather changes) and bring your own water, sunscreen, and good walking shoes.
Our Pride March 2024 Grand Marshal is Flora Hex!
Flora Hex is the Mother of Brandon's first Drag House, the House of Hex, and has helped build up the drag scene here in Brandon like never seen before. On the stage or in the classroom, Flora has been an encouraging and supportive mentor to students and those around her.
Generously volunteering hours of free time to helping with makeup, designing and creating outfits and choreography from scratch, and performing at fundraisers such as Trans Day of Visibility and Brandon Pride events throughout the year. Then as an educator, providing safe spaces where students can express themselves creatively and fostering an environment where one can feel supported to grow and excel at whatever they put their mind to.
Flora, thank you for being such a light and leader in our community!

NOTICE FOR THE PRIDE MARCH️
Last year, the Brandon Pride Committee encouraged the community to show up as themselves for the Pride March instead of under a banner of a business or organisation. This year it will be a request that no banners of businesses, groups, organisations, clubs, etc. be present at our Pride March.
Since 2015, Brandon Pride has always held a Rally followed by a March on foot to respect the first gay pride marches in the 1970s for gay rights. Rights which many 2SLGBTQIA+ individuals are still fighting for and defending to this day. Instead we encourage signs that uplift messages of celebration for marriage equality, for the protection of trans rights and gender-affirming healthcare, and of 2SLGBTQIA+ joy and triumph that showcase the core of why we continue the tradition of a Pride March and not a Pride Parade in Brandon.
